Sarah Sherman
Sarah Sherman is a screenwriter and director whose first feature film Young Hearts was executive produced by Mark Duplass and Jay Duplass and debuted at the 2020 Slamdance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, under the name Thunderbolt in Mine Eye. The film also enjoyed acceptance to Seattle International Film Festival, Newport Beach Film Festival and Portland International Film Festival, after which it was acquired by HBO Max. In June 2021 Sarah was hired by Mar Vista Entertainment & Particular Crowd to co-direct a family/holiday feature in Atlanta, Georgia, and she has previously acted in a TV pilot titled Two Dogs that she wrote and created opposite It’s Alway’s Sunny in Philadelphia‘s Glenn Howerton. Sarah most recently directed short film September (written by/starring Sophie Jones’ Jessica Barr) which premiered at Cinema Femme Short Film Fest in April 2022. She is currently developing a limited miniseries that takes place in the South Dakota plains during the 1970’s, as well as two features she has written that explore mental health and masculinity. Sarah is a frequent collaborator of her brother, the actor Zachary Ray Sherman, and she resides in Montana with her two children.
Zachary Ray Sherman
Zachary Ray Sherman is an actor and filmmaker from Portland, OR who is best known for his roles on Netflix’s Everything Sucks! (2018), CBS’s 90210 (2008), Archie’s Final Project (2009), and on the stage in Seattle Rep’s True West (2020). In 2018, Zach gained 45 pounds for the part of an isolated alt-right vlogger in Cuck (2019) for which he received the Seymour Cassel Award. His first feature Barbie’s Kenny played at Newport Beach Film Festival, Nashville Film Festival, and Portland International Film Festival, and won Best Director at the Cinefest North Hollywood and Oregon Independent Film Festivals. Zach’s second feature was Young Hearts, which he co-directed and co-produced with his sister, Sarah. He can be seen playing Porter Rockwell in Hulu’s Under the Banner of Heaven premiering April 28th, 2022, and he also stars as Dan Richards in John-Michael Powell’s The Send-Off which is currently playing festivals.
